The Thing 2
Has anyone seen John Carpenter's The Thing? If so then you'll appreciate this. If not, GO SEE IT. I decided to continue the film and this is what
I've got so far. I hope to try and create a good length novel. Let me know what you all think.
The Thing 2
As the temperature drops, they begin to freeze. The cold is started to become unbearable and he thinks to himself, “I’m not going to last very
long out here. I hope I go quickly.” As the wind gets stronger, the bitter cold rushes through his thick, arctic jacket like sharp knives pricking his
skin rapidly. He was being to shake, nothing new. He’d been sitting in the cold now for about an hour now. No sign of anything. He breathes a sigh of
relief knowing it’s dead, that it’s finally over. He starts to feel a little warm inside knowing that he has sacrificed his life to save the lives of
billions. He starts to sink down against the burnt down building and drift off, knowing he won’t wake up. Just then he hears a chopping in the
distant. It’s a sound that’s all too familiar to him. He thought to himself it’s just the cold, it’s making him hallucinate. Then it got louder and
louder, and he just disregarded it as nothing. It wasn’t until he actually saw the helicopter touch down and a few men scurry out. They ran over to
him screaming and yelling, the words he couldn’t make out. Finally he could make out a sentence.
“What is your name!?”
“My name? My name is R.J. MacReady.”
“Who’s the guy over there?”
“That is Randall Childs. Is he alive?”
“Yeah he’s ok! Can you stand on your own?”
“I think so,” then MacReady steadily gets to his feet. The man who was with him escorted him and Childs to the helicopter. They both relax knowing
they won’t die alone in the cold, icy, Arctic. The helicopter lifts off and into the blackness of the night. The burning camp fades out of sight.
MacReady can only think about the friends he lost to the horrors of the Thing. Men, who he gladly laid down his life to save, gave theirs for his. The
only other survivor was Childs and he’s not looking too good himself. MacReady doesn’t even know who he’s flying with but doesn’t care, because it’s
better then dying in the cold.

Wow, that was pretty good for an amateur writer. I hope to see more story. Where exactly are you going with this?

The helicopter arrived at McMurdo after a few hours of flight. As they arrived, a group of men in hazmat suits rushed out and gathered up
MacReady and Childs. “Where are you taking us?!” shouted Macready. “Yeah what the hell is going on here, I want answers dammit!” But to no avail. The
men quickly rushed them inside and stripped them of their clothes. They watched as the suited men threw their clothes down a chute, then the chute lit
up with fire. “They’re burning our clothes? Why would they do that?” MacReady thought to himself. Then the men stepped out of the room and the doors
sealed shut with a hiss. The room became airtight and lit up red. A female voice came over the intercom system. “Decontamination commencing.” Then
hose turned on and sprayed MacReady and Childs all over. The men were screaming and shouting because neither one knew what was going on. Then a gas
filled up the room. MacReady and Childs’ screams became softer and quieter. Finally both of them collapsed on the floor.
As MacReady awoke he found himself in a 9x9x9 cell with Childs asleep on a bunk next to him. His head felt like someone put an axe through it. His
limbs felt like jell-o and it was hard for him to even sit up because of the pain in his chest. He noticed he was clothed now. It seemed like a
prison uniform. It was all blue and had a chest pocket, which was it. MacReady tried to stand but clutched his chest and sat back down. The pain was
too great for some reason. “What have they done to me? Where the hell am I?” MacReady thought to himself.
“The chest pain will subside shortly. It’s a side effect of the BZ, as is with the feelings in your head and limbs,” said the voice over the intercom.
“How the hell did I get here? What am I doing in this cell?” MacReady asked the mysterious voice. For a few moments there was no response. “ANSWER ME
YOU SON OF A censored!”
“Right now you’re under surveillance to make sure you aren’t the organism. We’ve taken blood samples and are testing them now,” the voice responded
back. “So please sit back and relax. The results should be done within a few hours.”
“What the hell? The organism? You’re talking about that censored Thing aren’t you? You knew about it? How could you have known? What the
censored is going on here?!” MacReady shouted back, but with no response. MacReady sat back and tried to piece together the situation, but how
could he? He has no idea where he is and can’t figure out what’s been done to him. The last thing he remembers is being stuck inside a room, stark
naked, and being sprayed with some substance. He decided best he wait until he got out of this censored cell. So he laid back and drifted off
to sleep.
this is the next section of my story

I liked it, but why did you say censored?
